Embracing My Journey: Photography, Resilience, and Authenticity

In the quiet moments of dawn, when the world still sleeps, I find solace behind my camera lens. My journey is more than just capturing nature's beauty; it’s a testament to resilience, authenticity, and the power of working at my own pace.
Living with PNES, or Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures, means that each day can be unpredictable. PNES can often be misdiagnosed as epilepsy, with about 10-20% of patients referred for seizure evaluation actually having PNES. This can make diagnosis challenging, as it requires careful differentiation through clinical assessments and video EEG monitoring.
During episodes, I might lose awareness and experience profound sensory overwhelm. It’s not about mental instability; it’s about intense physical and sensory experiences that can be draining and exhausting.
Additionally, I also deal with back issues that affect my mobility. The combination of PNES and back problems can weigh me down, making it difficult to get around and do what I love. It’s not about a lack of willingness; it’s simply that my body sometimes can’t keep up.
Working from home has been a blessing, allowing me to manage my energy more effectively. When I’m too tired to go outdoors and capture images myself, AI-generated artwork helps me continue my creative process. This flexibility allows me to keep progressing while giving my body the rest it needs.
In addition to photography, AI art helps me bridge gaps and bring more of the natural world to life, especially when I can’t physically reach certain locations. It’s about enhancing my creative vision and sharing the beauty I see.
And as I continue on this path, I also dream of giving back. Once I’m able to make enough from my sales, I hope to support wildlife conservation efforts, specifically aiming to help save endangered animals. It’s my way of contributing to the planet and ensuring that the beauty I capture today can be preserved for future generations.
Thank you for joining me on this journey and for allowing me to share my story, my art, and my aspirations for the future.
